How to make blogroll by google reader clips and updated blogs by name

welcome to end of ‘ping age’!

1- we know that “google reader” make Clips of updated feeds to show on your weblog. but the difference between a blog-ping tool (such as ping-o-matic or blogrolling.com) is here that GR`s clip shows the title of last post, and ping service shows the name of updated blog.

2- after coming of GR`s API. Google os announced that people can customize the GR`s clip by Java Scripts.

3- now what we need is here, just watch the source of this example file who shows the last updated Iranian English weblogs, from list of English doxdo.

what we do?

we ignore the default JS of GR`s clip, and we make ourselves JS. this small code would go to some where before of HEAD tag (</head>) in source code of page.

in this code we decide which DIV will contain the blog-roll. I call it “blogroll”, you can change it anyway. (line 19 of example.)

then in body of page, in place who blog-roll should show, we make the “blogroll” DIV (line 32) and after it, the JAVA code who calls the list of our blogroll from google reader. (line 34)

4- how to make your own feedroll?

just grab your shared folder code in google reader. go to SETTING and SHARE the folder you want. then click the ADD A CLIP TO YOUR SITE and grap you code. who is some thing similar to mine (line 34 before n=50)

change my code with yours. n=50 is the number of links to show. and you can change it.

5- we can pass the blogroll age, bye adding a title of the last post to feedroll. see example 2.
